Talk me through a typical day in the office/work for you?
I come in early and check my emails while the office is still quiet. I like to get all relevant documents and forms set up so I’m organised for the day. I always have a plan of what I need to do for the rest of the day with everything in priority order. Inevitably though things crop up that take time & need dealing with so my to do list for the day often ends up changing!
The rest of my day is usually spent contacting new contractors and dealing with incoming enquiries as well, most of this is done on the phone so I spend a lot of time talking!
What is your favourite part of the job?
Umm, this is a difficult one, I think it is probably the sense of achievement when everything gets done on time and as it should. It is a satisfying feeling when you know you’ve done everything you can and as a direct result the agencies and contractors are all happy.
If you didn’t work at Exchequer Solutions what would be your dream job?
I genuinely don’t know. I have to admit I’ve never really dreamt of being a pop star or an actress or anything like that . I didn’t grow up with a fixed idea of what I really wanted to do. I went to Uni and then worked in retail for a while but the hours weren’t ideal so I looked around and then I sort of fell in to this job and really enjoyed it!
Where would your ideal holiday be and why?
Probably somewhere like the Maldives. I went there for my honeymoon and it was so relaxing. Definitely somewhere I could completely switch off and drink cocktails on the beach. I’ve got young children so holidays are a bit different now, I don’t get to just sunbathe in peace anymore!
