2014, What a Year!

We started the year on a high.  We were in a new office with more space for our growing team and in a great location in Chester city centre.  The year started well and went from strength to strength.  GO-ORANGE-STAFF-BLOG

Early in the year we went through a complete rebrand, we worked closely with a local agency to create a new brand which really reflected our business.  The rebrand included a complete overhaul of all our branding, new signage and stationery was all created in the new brand and we launched our new website.   When developing the new site we were very focused not just on design but also on functionality, a key factor was to offer online registrations for our contractors.  We wanted to make registering with us as straight forward and hassle free as possible, this facility has completely transformed the business making it easier for our customers to register with us.

In the spring changes to legislation meant lots of upheaval for us as well as for contractors and those in the recruitment sector.  The changes meant lots of work to ensure compliance and reassure our clients.  In April we recruited an Operations Manager to assist with the new legislation and support improvements in the business.  We worked really hard before and after the new legislation came in to make sure everything was in place and things ran as smoothly as possible.  It was an extremely busy time and not without its stressful moments but looking back we think we did a pretty good job!

2014 has been a good year for growth with a fivefold increase in registrations.  Targets have been achieved and in many cases exceeded.  We’ve taken on new staff and practically doubled in size.  Back in the spring we looked at our structure and decided we could improve things by making a few changes, this review led to the creation of a brand new team dedicated to dealing with expenses.  We also expanded our account management, registrations and payroll teams.

It isn’t just the team in the office that has expanded, two members of the team have gone off to have babies and there are more on the way!  We’ve also had the excitement of an Exchequer Solutions wedding, congratulations again Dan!  All this and the event of the year, the Exchequer Christmas night out, is still to come!

We’ve had a lot of fun and like to think we’ve done some good along the way too.  Our Operations Director Mike completed an Ironman for charity and the whole team here have been involved in activities to raise money for charities like Children in Need and Action for Wildlife to help endangered orangutans in Borneo.  Any excuse to dress up!

Here’s hoping 2015 will just as successful and fun filled!
