On the 19th September members of the Exchequer team, as well as team members from our sister company Zodeq, will don our running gear to take on the Chester Half Marathon for the Countess Charity.
Funds raised will go towards the Countess Charity’s Blue Skies Balcony Appeal, which aims to raise money to build a garden balcony at the Countess of Chester Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). By having an outdoor space as part of the ICU, unwell patients currently staying in the department will have the opportunity to go outside in the fresh air, in a safe and infection-controlled environment. Previous patients from the ICU have stressed the importance this change of scenery can have on feeling unwell, and therefore a balcony attached to the department will have a huge impact.
If you know Exchequer then you will know that we love to stay active, and what better way to celebrate our love of running and fitness than to support a wonderful cause. We have been supporting the Countess Charity for a number of years now, as has the team at Zodeq; we are so excited to be joining forces to take part in this year’s race, particularly after the challenging 18 months we have all experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our aim is to raise £2,500 for the Countess Charity. Any and all donations that we receive are hugely appreciated and will go towards a wonderful cause that is making a huge difference to the lives of patients and their families.
