Contracting post-pandemic

The last few months have seen all of our lives change dramatically. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted us all on both a professional and personal basis.

As restrictions are gradually eased across the UK, many of us are now looking to life past the pandemic, and planning what the future will look like after this challenging time. However, COVID-19 is set to be with us for a great while longer, and whilst it may seem that we are slowly returning to normal, there will inevitably be some changes that will be sticking around for the foreseeable future.

Throughout the pandemic, we have been supporting our contractors in a number of ways, including providing our usual services to those still able to work or administering furlough payments to eligible contractors who cannot.

We are now in a period of time where contractors are entering a ‘new normal’, meaning that their work will need to adapt in many ways, including new social distancing procedures in the office or on-site, increased ability to work remotely and much more stringent hygiene procedures, to name just a few.

As we have seen since the beginning of lockdown, guidance and restrictions are changing at a very rapid rate. Add to this the fact that different industries, and the businesses within those industries, will each have their own rules and regulations in place, this ultimately means that contractors will need to ensure they keep track of changes as and when they are announced, so that they can adapt their way of working accordingly.

Having weathered the many changes over the past few months, the team here at Exchequer are well prepared for the coming weeks and months, as we continue to transition out of lockdown life and into our new normal. As always, supporting our contractors and agency partners will continue to be our top priority.

Speak to our team today if you have any questions about your future contracting career.
