A couple of weeks ago we posted a news article about the shortage of delivery drivers. Well the people at Amazon are clearly looking for alternative solutions to this problem. They have announced they are trialling deliveries by drones!
If you live in Cambridge your Christmas shopping could be delivered directly to your back garden with no white van man or postal worker in sight! Amazon are promoting the service as it will offer same day delivery but clearly if successful it will also help them to manage the problem of the skills shortage which currently exists in logistics and transport sector.
Still just a pilot at the moment and limited to Cambridge, it will be interesting to see how this works and whether by next year more of us will be receiving our shopping this way!
